Bara Al-Obaidy, Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)

Bara (he/him) works with individuals and couples struggling with finding a balanced life. He believes in psychotherapy being a collaborative process built on mutual respect and goal setting. His areas of interest include stress management, depression, anxiety, stress and burnout, interpersonal difficulties, life and career transitions, cultural issues, personal identity, and self-confidence.

Bara uses an integrative approach based on the client and their goals. His approach combines humanistic and existential theories, Gestalt-based experiential exercises, positive psychology, and mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral therapy. Bara also has completed his Level 2 Gottman Couples Certification. During his professional career, Bara has founded and chaired youth-oriented programs and provided career-coaching for new professionals.

Bara has an MA in counselling psychology and is a member in good standing of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. Bara is supervised by Dr. Amelie Zonato, PsyD, C. Psych.
