Frances Fitzgibbon, M.A., Registered Psychotherapist

Frances helps clients to grow through building resilience, navigating change and learning new skills. She works with general mental health issues and has a keen focus on helping those dealing with anxiety, trauma, identity, mood disorders, personality issues and relationship crises. If you are feeling misunderstood or locked in a space where you just feel stuck, she can help with this.

Frances runs a practice free from shame or judgement; a therapeutic experience to explore the complexities of you. It's a respectful and safe space for people of diverse cultures, sexual orientations and identities. All therapy is from an evidence-based approach and may include various frameworks such as Psychodynamic/Attachment-Based, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MCBT). She is also one of the few therapists in Canada certified in Reconsolidation Therapy, a ground-breaking process for the relief of PTSD and trauma symptoms. Traumatic events can affect many aspects of a person's life and she can help you live a better life through an integrated therapy approach.

Whether you are keen to explore your 'self' and life path (who am I and how do I fit in this world?), self-esteem issues, or problems with motivation and fear; the approach she takes is tailored to your exact needs and personality. In her couples therapy work, she treats issues arising with conflict, attachment, sex therapy, infidelity and intimacy challenges.

Frances holds a Masters degree in Counselling Psychology (M.A.C.P.) and is a member in good standing of the College of Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and the Ontario Society of Registered Psychotherapists (OSRP). She is a registered provider of the NIHB program for Indigenous Canadians, and Blue Cross for veterans, Canadian armed forces, and first responders. She provides therapy in Ottawa and other provinces.
