Jason Taylor, Counsellor

Jason provides individual counselling to clients ages 15+. As a practicum student and early professional, he understands the strength of individuals seeking to improve their life situation. Jason is an openly Queer therapist who is knowledgeable and passionate about the LGBTQIA+ community. Jason takes a non-judgmental and non-knowing stance of a client’s life. The client is viewed on equal grounding as the therapist, and is treated at the forefront with kindness, dignity, and respect. He believes that all clients have the strengths to reach their goals and helps them to build their skills to attain those goals. Jason is interested in working with clients who have anxiety, depression, perfectionism, relational issues, and life transitions.

Jason takes an eclectic approach to counselling, utilizing various theoretical orientations including Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic theory, mindfulness-based therapies, narrative therapy, and Solution-Focused-Therapy. Jason takes a collaborative, client-centered, and biopsychosocial evidence-based framework to therapy.

Jason received his B.Sc. from the University of Ottawa and is pursuing his MA at Yorkville University. Jason is supervised by Alice Lurie, R.P., M.A.
